Things I love

Things I Love Tuesdays/Thursdays or Friday Favorites are a pretty popular blog feature, but I'm not consistent enough to do update weekly, so this is just "Things I Love Any Day". I can't even get it together enough to make a post on Saturday with all the Caturday gifs I've been saving, and to be honest, when I went to make this post I totally thought today was Tuesday.

 Things I love:
Traditional quilts with modern fabric- I mainly follow sewing blogs, and I get serious stash envy. I love the fabric msmcporkchop used for her mini quilt. She also has a gorgeous quilt on her etsy that also uses some great Heather Ross material. I need to find some of that unicorn fabric.

Getting good grades- This probably makes me sound nerdy, but I work so hard to keep my head above water in calculus. I spend 4 hours on each homework assignment (we have one or two paper homework assignments a week and two online homeworks, so that's a lot of time), go to the tutoring center and spend an hour or two there almost every day, and get a private tutor once a week, so it feels great when I get an A on anything. I have also been watching MIT calculus lectures on youtube. I'm not sure if that last part helps, but it makes me feel smart.

Jello- I love Jello. In fact, I have some firming up in my fridge right now. I love the stuff that goes on over at The Jello Mold Mistress of Brooklyn. Some things are slightly off putting to me (not feeling the mint chocolate chip jello) and most things are filled with booze, but it's nice to see the Jello creations.

Cat mugs- I know as soon as my mom sees that I listed cat mugs under things I love, she will find me more mugs and send them to me. Every package she sends me includes a cat mug.

TARDIS cookie jar- From ThinkGeek. Simply amazing. It even makes "authentic TARDIS sounds", but I've started to notice my AC unit also does that. I almost wish I had cable so I could watch Doctor Who, but they have (almost) all the seasons on Netflix, and I much prefer the Tenth Doctor to the Eleventh. I think he's cuter.

Cute planters- Speaking of cute things, I love this squirrel planter from ModCloth. It's self watering, too. I haven't been as diligent on watering my garden these past few days, and my smaller containers dry out so fast. Everything is still growing, though. I haven't been able to get my spinach seeds to germinate, but I thought the butterhead bibb lettuce was a dud as well and I recently got an explosion of seedlings two or three weeks after the black seeded simpson, so I'm still holding out.
