Adventures in beading

patterns from Peyote Bead Art on Etsy

ring design by me!
Every time I go to a craft store I end up in the bead aisle staring at all the pretty beads and crystals. I figured it was about time I started doing something that involved beads. Now I can hoard all the shiny and not just stare longingly at it. I bought a few patterns off Etsy a week ago and I've been beading like a manwoman ever since. I'm especially proud of the ring I made. I used the techniques I learned from the bracelet pattern to make the ring and did a daisy chain for the band. It's so sparkly and pretty. I can't wait to make more.

Friday Favs- Etsy sellers

Not only is Elize the coolest person ever, she's also super extra talented. I have gotten tattooed by her a bunch of times and have tons of her prints. She also just opened up her own tattoo shop, Brilliance Tattoo, in Boston, MA. If you're a fan of Japanese style and cute things, you'll most definitely want to check her out.

It's not easy finding jewelry that says "I like cats" without it also saying "I probably have 15 cats and my house smells like cat pee". I got the amethyst cat ring for Christmas and it is perfect. Every Bear has tons of adorable, simple styled jewelry that's actually affordable.

I just started hula hooping a couple weeks ago. It's a great workout and tons of fun, but I'm going to be honest, I got into it mainly because hula hoops are so pretty and shiny. I ordered two hula hoops, one from Tree Hugger and one from a different seller. My Tree Hugger hoop is a gorgeous custom made hoop and arrived to me in less than a week. My other hoop is plain and took 3 weeks to get to me. I would definitely recommend Tree Hugger.

Dear Blog, I'm sorry

Dear Blog,

I am the worst. I have neglected you for so long. I wish I had a good excuse, but I don't. In the span of my absence I have moved into a new apartment, started a garden, and learned how to crochet and play the ukulele. I didn't blog about my awesome birthday or the awesome cake waffles I had for breakfast (you basically just cook cake in a waffle iron, it is in the best thing ever and I want to eat it every day). I didn't share my recent craft projects. I didn't even post pictures of my cousin's visit! I have fed you all these empty promises about being a better blogger, but this time I mean it. Please forgive me.

Yours forever,
Cait
